House Rewires in Penzance & Penwith
Overview
Whether you're updating an ageing installation, renovating a property, or starting from scratch, a rewire is one of the most significant electrical jobs in any home. As a sole trader working across Penwith, I'm involved from the first survey through to the final test - the same person throughout, with no handoffs or miscommunication.
What's involved
Initial survey
I visit to assess the scope, access routes, and any particular challenges - granite walls, occupied rooms, existing cable runs. This is when we agree on the plan and price.
First fix
I route cables before plastering begins. In Penwith this often means working around granite construction and older building materials. Careful planning at this stage saves time and disruption later.
Second fix & testing
I fit and test all sockets, switches, the consumer unit, and any lighting circuits to BS 7671. You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate on completion.
Typical Costs
Final price depends on property size, make-up of the building (stud walls vs granite block), whether the property is occupied, and whether making good for decorating is included.
